Travel back in time when you step into Hawk's
Haven, a
beautiful log house
that was originally
constructed in the 1840's. The two story log
structure has been carefully reconstructed and
restored to incorporate all of the conveniences
of a modern home while maintaining much of the
ambience of a pre-civil war dwelling.
A charming getaway located in a secluded,
peaceful valley surrounded by lush forest, Hawk's
Haven offers privacy and solitude in conjunction
with easy access to many area amenities. The log
home is conveniently located about midway between
Bloomington and Nashville on a picturesque county
road about 1-1/2 miles from Highway 46. With
Little Nashville Opry just down the road, one is
only minutes from Brown County State Park, water
activities on Lake Monroe, arts and crafts and
antique shopping in quaint Nashville, and the
fine dining, cultural activities and sporting events offered in Bloomington.
Hawk's Haven offers many upscale features for
discriminating guests who seek luxury and
seclusion in a rustic atmosphere. For instance,
the
master bedroom features a king-size bed,
cathedral ceiling with ceiling fan, french door
access to the back porch and the master bath
offers one a double sink vanity, a large tile
shower with two showerheads and a two-person Jaccuzi whirlpool bath tub.
The two log-wall bedrooms upstairs each have a
love seat, sitting area, and picturesque views
from the windows. Bedroom One has a
king size
bed, and Bedroom Two has two twin beds and a
comfortable double sleeper sofa. The two upstairs
bedrooms share a full size bath room in the
common hallway and each has its own satellite TV.
Original art work by well recognized regional and
international artists can be enjoyed throughout
the house. One can dine at the antique marble top
table in the kitchen area or relish the glorious
view from the dining room at the oak trestle
table which seats up to ten people. After dinner,
relax in the log living room and gaze into a
crackling wood fire in the beautiful Brown County
Stone fireplace, or shoot a game of pool on the
fine quality, slate-topped pool table provided
for your enjoyment. Comfortable seating is
provided for anyone just wanting to kick back and
watch satellite TV, play a DVD or CD, and on the
back porch, the 4 to 5 person hot tub is always ready to sooth and relax.
While staying at Hawk's Haven one should explore
the private woods adjacent to the house, or
venture up the road about ¼ mile to the trails at
Yellowood Lake, a mecca for fishermen and nature
lovers, where boats and canoes are available for
rent. Back toward Nashville, just minutes away,
is Schooner Valley Stables offering guided trail
rides on horseback through the woods. For the
golf enthusiasts, the dramatic terrain offers
special challenges and beautiful vistas at the
three public courses that are no more than twenty
minutes away. Guests seeking a respite from their
busy daily lives will want to take advantage of
the comfortable outdoor furniture and enjoy the
views from the three different porches. Pass the
time sitting on the porch enjoying you favorite
beverage while watching a spectacular sunset or
stargazing in the evening. One is likely to see
hawks, deer, wild turkey, blue heron, fox, quail,
and other wild life indigenous to the area.
Our goal has been to make Hawk's Haven a
comfortable home-away-from-home. After your first
stay, Hawk's Haven will always come to mind for
family gatherings, romantic getaways, I.U game
weekends, or just last minute escapes from city
life to have fun, relax, and rejuvenate.
We invite you to come experience Hawk's Haven. We
are sure that you will love it as much as we do.
